This is a how to guide for mining Zcash on a Mac. Here are the technical specifications for the Mac I used for mining: 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 Processor 16 GB 1600 Mhz DDR3 Memory AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2 GB Video Card MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 Step 1) Install Zcash Wallet on your Mac The first step is installing a Zcash blockchain wallet on your Mac. For this, I installed Jaxx, which requires OS X 10.9 or later. When setting up Jaxx, be sure to safely write down your Backup Phrase and keep it in a safe location. Once your Jaxx wallet has been setup, make a note of your ZEC wallet address. Step 2) Join a Zcash Mining Pool The next step is joining a Zcash mining pool. For this, I joined the Suprnova mining pool and created an account in the ZEC Zcash Suprnova mining pool. Once you've joined a mining pool, go into your account profile and add your Jaxx ZEC wallet address and choose automatic payout. Alternatively, you can do manual payout if you prefer. Step 3) Install Zcash Mining Software on your Mac Download nheqminer from GitHub. Once downloaded, move the ZIP file to your Desktop and open. This will uncompress the zip and create a nheqminer folder on your Mac's desktop. Within the nheqminer folder, right click on start.sh and choose Open with TexEdit. Change your mining pool and ZEC address. Save your edited file. Open Terminal and run the following commands: cd Desktop cd nheqminer ./start.sh And you're good to go! You're now mining ZEC Zcash on your Mac! Special thanks to justvanbloom for creating this ZEC mining software.
