The trade.io ICO (an ERC-20 token) launched its Pre-ICO phase today, November 7th, and you can take advantage of the Pre-ICO bonus (1ETH = 200 TIO) over the next 18 days; after which the bonus amount will drop to (1ETH = 150 TIO) during the regular ICO phase which will begin on November 28th. If you want to read more about their ICO you can do so here, or you can read their whitepaper here. Their mission statement is to "become the leading platform for trading multiple financial assets based on blockchain technology." Some of these assets will include: "Forex and CFDs [Contract for Difference derivatives trading] over precious metals, oil, commodities, indices, [and] global equities" in addition to cryptocurrency assets and other financial assets. Trade.io has partnered with "two regulated brokers, FX Primus Europe (CY) Ltd. (FXPRIMUS) & Primus Capital Markets UK Ltd. (PCM)." Trade.io's mantra is to "disrupt the establishment," bringing larger scale asset trading to a wider participant base and bring honesty and transparency to a marketplace traditionally rife with secrecy and market manipulation via insiders.

One of their featured investors is Chinese billionaire Chien Lee who believes Trade.io could very well be a leader in the blockchain based, asset trade-VC marketplace. You can read an interview with Chien Lee discussing his thoughts on Trade.io here. You can also read Huffington Post's write up on Trade.io here, calling their project "the great equalizer."

As for the ICO, their Pre-ICO will run from November 7th to November 25th followed by the regular ICO phase which starts November 28th and ends December 15th. During the Pre-ICO phase 200,000,000 TIO tokens will be up for sale. Any unsold tokens will be added to the regular ICO phase amount of 75,000,000 tokens. After the ICO phases, any un-purchased tokens will be "burned." The total intended supply will be 500,000,000 TIO tokens.

The token itself will not be considered a security according to the whitepaper, thus there is no formal restrictions on who can participate in the token sale. However, outside of the general speculative investor that may or may not see a later, standard ROI on an ICO, the investors who can really maximize their ROI are those who contribute enough to be in the Liquidity Pool. Section 4.4 of the whitepaper details this, and states that the minimum tokens needed to participate in the Liquidity Pool is 5000 TIO. Essentially one would need to maintain at least 5000 TIO in their trade.io e-wallet to be able to benefit from being in the Liquidity Pool, to which 50% of trading day profits would be shared with Liquidity Pool participants (see Sec.4.3 of whitepaper). Liquidity Pool participation is similar to coin staking and thus, those who stake, will share in a sort of dividend based on the trading day's profits. So this can be beneficial for larger scale investors, but for investors who can't afford to stake enough tokens to participate in the Liquidity Pool, the general rules of ICO investing apply, which is to see how the general marketplace will accept the coin once it is on the market. However, with the price of Bitcoin sitting over $7000, one Bitcoin worth would just about get you into the Liquidity Pool, so for those who believe in this project and want to give it a try you can sign up here to participate in the Pre-ICO phase.

People online say everything is a scam, including Ethereum and Bitcoin. Every investment is a risk. Always do your own research. No investment advice here, only basic information. So far I haven't seen compelling evidence to show that trade.io is a scam. If such evidence arrises I will post an update. If you want to post about an ICO you are free to do so; this is an open forum.
